How to make more Network Marketing Sales

So you’ve joined a MLM company, attended a corporate convention, hassled your relatives and attacked a few random strangers – all to no avail. You’re making less sales in Network Marketing than I went on dates in high school (and trust me, that’s bad) – so what are you doing wrong? Haven’t you drank the cool-aid? And the gurus still aren’t helping, are they?
Three Ways of Thinking…
The first thing to clear up is what you’re selling – after all, it’s hard to sell something if you don’t understand what it is, no?
There are three different products you can focus on selling in your business. (I know, I know, you have ’50 products’ or whatever – just hear me out).
The first product that you can market in your business is your actual, tangible (or intangible) company product. This is the realm of more than 80% of MLM distributors – attempting to make sales by talking about how ‘exciting’ their new magic lotion is. (Now don’t be mistaken, I buy as much magic lotion as the next burly man out there) The term ‘magic lotion’ could be replaced with vitamins, pre-paid legal, travel, personal development, or whatever else you’re selling.
The unfortunate thing about focusing your Network Marketing Sales on your company product is that you probably aren’t having much success doing it. I know, there was that one guy who your friend Bill knew who knew a gal named Susan who had an uncle who got rich wearing a shirt that said ‘I swam naked in algae’ – but is it working for you?
The second product you can be selling in your MLM business is your opportunity. ‘Sell the Dream’ as they say in Amway. The hardest thing to do in the whole world (although it does work, for that one guy we both heard about once) is to gather your friends into your home, pull out a white board, and convince them all they’re going to get rich by joining you in your business.
It would almost be easier to convince an elephant to become a bird… Seriously – I’m not saying this as someone who hasn’t been successful doing home meetings – I built an organization of over 1000 people in 6 months, part time doing nothing but home meetings and hotel meetings. You know what though? It was a pain in the ass.

Now, of course, my stupidity is hindsight:
Every night, 6-7 nights per week I was driving all over town ‘selling the dream’. I stopped going to church as much as I like, I didn’t hang out with my friends on weekends, I didn’t date…
(I guess I never did much of that…)
My point is – who cares that I made money. It sucked. I would rather eat plain butter.
The FINAL thing you can sell in Network Marketing is…
